Free Link Building Tools
Gaining lots of high quality and relevant backlinks to your website and internal pages is very important to achieve high search engine rankings. Having to build links manually would be very time consuming and frustrating. Luckily, there is an assortment of free link building tools on the market to help you with this process. Each has their strengths and weaknesses, however using them in combination fills in any potential gaps.
Here are the four best free link building tools I’ve found and use:
Link Harvester
Link Harvester is free web-based free link building software provided by SEOBook. It is open-source, easy to use, and has solid features and performance. You can query 1000 links deep at a time for Yahoo, MSN, or both search engines. It’s great for quickly checking links without having to download software.
SEO Link Analysis Firefox Extension
This Firefox link analysis extension is great if you use Yahoo Site Explorer or Google Webmaster Tools to check your inbound links. It appends the PageRank of the linking page, whether it is nofollow or dofollow, and the anchor text user. I find it very useful because it saves time in determining that information manually.
Web CEO
Web CEO is an SEO software suite that includes a solid link analysis tool. It provides link popularity, competition analysis, and link anchor text. A free version is also available, and includes other useful SEO tools. I recommend you evaluate it yourself to see if its something that works for you.
SEO Spyglass
SEO Spyglass offers perhaps the most functionality out of the other link building tools on this list. It has a free version that limits link analysis to Yahoo, which is still very useful. Commercial versions with other features are also available. I find the free version accomplishes a good portion of the information I need in my link building.
