Top 10 SEO Blogs
Search engine optimization makes your website more readable to both search engine and your readers. It involves a variety of practices that drive traffic to your site. Because search algorithms are constantly changing, and lots of “SEOs” are selling snake oil, it is important to use reliable and frequently updated resources to stay on top.
Here are the Best SEO Blogs I have found on the web, ranked in descending order:
1. SEOmoz
This was the most useful resource I used when learning about SEO. A combination of a fresh and unique blog, SEO tools, and community feedback make this a go to place for search engine marketing.
2. Search Engine Land
Led by Danny Sullivan who has been covering search for the past 11 years, SEL provides frequently updated news and information in the field of search engine marketing.
3. Graywolf’s SEO Blog
Michael Gray is very well known in the search marketing industry and provides a wealth of knowledge and experience on his blog.
4. Marketing Pilgrim
Andy Beal’s blog is updated several times daily, and contains breaking search engine news that is unique from some of the other blogs.
5. Matt Cutts
Matt has been working on search quality as a Google employee for the last several years, and is a leading authority when it comes to Google search. He shares insights, updates, and related Google search information on his blog.
6. Search Engine Watch
Up to date strategies, news, and tips related to the search engine industry.
7. Search Engine Journal
Several authors contribute to this blog, and as a result it has several article related to search engine marketing each day, more than the other blogs on this list.
8. Bruce Clay
Bruce Clay’s blog is actually authored by two talented writers: Virginia Nussey and Susan Esparza. Although not as frequently updated as other blogs, the quality, length, of usefulness of each post make up for this.
9. Andy Beard
Maybe not as well known as some other blogs on this list, Andy’s blog is regularly updated with informative and often controversial posts making it an interesting read. I also enjoy the personal touch not available on many of the bigger blogs.
10. SEO Book
A regularly updated SEO blog founded by Danny Sullivan in 2003 offering search engine marketing tips, analysis, and news.
Whether you are new to search engine marketing and optimization or doing it for years, these resources are required reading to stay on top of search engine trends and practices.
